--Meet our Pastor, the Rev. James Knowles--


Rev. Knowles attended the Vanderbilt University Divinity School in Nashville, TN,
as well as the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, PA from which he
received a Master of Divinity in 1974. He received a Doctor Of Ministry from
the Andover Newton Theological School, Newton Center, MA in 1986.

Most recently, Pastor Knowles received his Master of Social Work from the
School of Social Welfare, State University of New York at Albany (May, 2005).

Trinity Lutheran Church is housed in a very traditional building. Our sanctuary is a beautiful example of typical Swedish church architecture. But Trinity Lutheran Church is a wonderful mixture of the traditional Lutherans and people from other and/or no church backgrounds. We are young and old, married and single, heterosexual and homosexual, liberal and conservative, well-off and not so well-off, computer literate and electronically challenged, etc. – a wonderful collection of unique individuals working together to advance the Lord’s work in the Brattleboro area.
